POSTUP
Problem Statement
Finding Remote Places to Work is a Struggle
In the given prompt as a Design Sprint Challange, PostUp is a new startup that aims to provide a platform for remote workers and freelancers to socialize and share tips with each other. It was observed that users began sharing recommendations for the best places to work, have meetings, or make phone calls during the day, outside of their homes. Within a tight timeframe of 5 days, I was tasked with devising a solution for designing a search engine.

DAY 1-2
First Takeaways
From the given information, I write the most important facts I learned from user research & user persona. Later, I wrote "How Might We" questions according to the takeaways. Finally, I summarize the problem I have to solve with a short paragraph : search engine for only working places.
User Flow
I wanted to create a simple and easy user flow for remote workers to help them with just a few steps. The User Flow helped me design my home page, providing immediate suggestions to users, allowing them to quickly find the best match for their needs. On the information page, users can access detailed information about the location through simple icons.
Sketches
I created a simple sketch to visualize my wireframe and how the app might look like. On the home page, I want the user to access the best wifi spots or worker locations first, so they don't have to spend time researching. The suggested places are shown based on the user's main needs. With the help of AI, the user will see the best spot for them first after accessing the app.
DAY 3-4
First Testing
I wanted to be cohesive with the original UI that was given with the prompt. Therefore, I used the original brand colors that was given in the prompt. As a result, I created my low-fidelity prototype, and I sought feedback from users and my mentor regarding its usability. I made some changes based on their reviews and created the final prototype in day 5.
DAY 5
Final Design
Here are the changes I focused on for my final prototype:
-
Providing information about the noise level.
-
Offering reviews about specific features such as Wifi, plugs, and bathroom.
-
Adding recent additions to the save tab, allowing users to easily access their latest saves.
-
Instead of suggesting pictures on the home page and search bar, the user can select a location and view suggested places for that specific location.
-
By putting a locked wifi icon, the user will know if they have to purchase food or coffee to access the wifi.
-
Worked on having a better UI.
Learnings
Clear Ideation Saves Time
During the course of this project, I was faced with a challenging deadline. In order to ensure the best possible outcome, I researched multitude of location search platforms to gather valuable references. However, due to the time constraints, I was unable to fully dedicate myself to the task of creating a distinctive user interface for the application. If I had more time, my primary focus would be on enhancing the user interface to provide a more engaging experience. Additionally, I would also prioritize the implementation of additional filter features to offer users greater flexibility and customization options.
