Problem Statement

Don't we all love shopping?

In the world of online shopping and the abundance of fashion items available, it can be overwhelming to find the right items and avoid purchasing unnecessary ones. Fast fashion retailers primarily target consumers aged 18 to 24, who are attracted by cheap prices and trendy styles.

Did you know?

In the United States, women are directly or indirectly responsible for up to $14.0 trillion or 80% of consumer spending.  A study by Earth.Org, found that the average person only wears 20% of their clothes 80% of the time.

Consquences

Fast fashion companies contribute more to pollution than international aviation and shipping combined and consume around 93 Billion Metres of Water each year. Producing one shirt and one pair of jeans consumes 15,000 gallons of water. This amount is equivalent to the volume of water we drink over a 13-year span.

It is important to assist these consumers in understanding their fashion sense without being only attracted to trendy styles. Additionally, we should encourage them to purchase more sustainable materials for the sake of humanity and their health.

What I found?

Most of the people I have talked to have a tendency for online shopping experience & aren't aware how much clothes they own. They prefer cheapness & quantity over quality, but realized they have too many clothes they collected over the last couple of years.

User Research

How do we actually behave when shopping?

I first surveyed twenty-one individuals & interview

four women who have history with online shopping.

Empathy Map

After my initial user research, I created an empathy map designated for my  target audience. With the map, I gain a deeper insight into customer needs & desires.

What can you do with Mindy?

Learnings

User Testing saves time

The more I ask for suggestions to improve my design, the more ideas pop up and provide me with opportunities to make significant changes. By embracing this iterative process of feedback and exploration, I am able to continuously refine and enhance my design.

Next Steps

What can I do if I had more time?

Brands

I would like to conduct more user tests to gain a deeper understanding of how users interact with the wishlist feature. This valuable feedback would allow me to make necessary improvements and enhancements to this key functionality.

Cater Wide Range of Users

I would create screens specifically tailored for iPad and PC users. This would provide more variety in terms of platform usage and allow users to access the platform from different devices.
